How can I obtain files or special reports based on data from your site?

For information on obtaining datasets or special reports please visit our Custom Reports and Datasets section.

What are the sources of data?

Most of the data has been obtained from Connecticut Medicaid Cost Report data files obtained from the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services or directly from copies of Cost Reports filed in the case of the most recent Cost Reporting periods.

How do I know whether the data are accurate?

The LTCDE takes reasonable steps to report data as they appear in public use files. There are no warranties, however, regarding accuracy or suitability for a particular purpose.

Why aren't there more recent financial data?

Connecticut Medicaid cost reports are submitted to the State about three months after the end of each Cost Reporting Period. The cost year ending dates are 09/30. The desk review processing lag time is generally at least 9-12 months before a data base becomes available to the public.

We update our files once the Department of Social Services makes the files available. To reduce the lag time, we gather the information as Cost Reports are filed and are therefore able to present data 6-9 months earlier and then once the data is compiled after desk review amendments is available we substitute for the data files released by the Department of Social Services.

What if I have technical questions about the data?

Questions about data can be directed to Robert Morgan at (203) 272-4417 or via e-mail contact.
